Convienience, especially if you don't have personal transportation. Lincoln township is not very big, and housing would have been difficult to find

The first semester I lived in the self catered halls, which placed me with all international students. Second semester I lived in a flat on campus. This allowed me to live with New Zealanders and was for students older than first years.

Living in Christchurch offered me the oppurtunity to meet and live with kiwis and not just the international students I was placed with.

Housing at Lincoln was nice and clean. Very basic with a lot of open space to play in.
