Bad working system
Gwyneth
Vietnam, Graduate

Overall
Taught courses are fine, but if you're going for engineering/science research, please go to another university. You won't get proper supervision or facilities. The offices for postgraduate students are old and unclean, not worth the huge tuition fees you have to pay (for international students). If you still want to try studying here, I would recommend that you have a look at some forums where former students talk about educational quality at this uni, and carefully look up your supervisors; otherwise, your future might be seriously ruined.

Relaxed, moderate-sized university in a real student-oriented town. It has lots of activities offered and a wide range of courses to choose from. I couldn't really ask for more :)

Made nothing easy or convenient, study somewhere else.

I can honestly say that Massey treats it’s students like petulant children. They make nothing easy or convenient with all needs or requests taking endless time. If I would have known this before enrolling, I would have studied in Sydney.

The Lone Indian had some great Jazz but they've closed down. Most pubs and niteclubs have mainstream music.. not really my scene. Favourite cafes: Barista, Cafe Cuba, and StageDoor. Don't visit events at Centrepoint Theatre and at the Regent!

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I've heard 'flatting' was supposed to be a very Kiwi cultural experience. But I loved living with a family. If you get the chance, do both!!

I had the advantage that I knew the family before I came; they are like real family.
