In Finland, most people speak English well, so where ever you go, you can always speak English. On one side this is very positive, but it makes it very difficult when you want to learn Finnish. People are always very polite and will start talking in the language you know best.

Every lesson was in english and I had the opportunity to watch lots of movies in english. Another factor was the fact of being with international students during days and nights.

Within MBS almost everybody spoke English at least sufficiently. Also other Fins outside university were mostly able to communicate in English. Even though I took part in a language course, I did not have enough knowlegde to have conversations in Finnish.

Most of the Finns speak a pretty good English. Communication is not a problem. Try to learn some Finnish, it's something I would do if I had to come back there.
