Korhuset is the student union where there is plenty to do. Waynee's coffee was my favourite cafe. And the skiing slpoe is quite close to the city so during the winter which lasts a long time in Sweden you can practice snowboarding and skiing.

Personal spending habits
Had to buy own food in Sweden, usually a bit more expensive than US. For nightlife, the alcohol prices are about twice as much as in the States. Public transportation was good.

There is a lot cheaper housing to be found if you do not work through the university. It requires some work, however. Unless you are EU, then health care is very expensive.
