Why?
Due to an econmic boom, life in Western Australia has become extremely expensive and this is the most cost-worthy way of living in Perth. Furthermore, there are practically no apartments to rent anymore and the ones that are available are very expensive. Student housing at Murdoch was haphazard and badly organized.

Personal comments
I applied for help in finding housing upon my arrival in Perth and didn't hear from the University at all regarding that. Also, student housing was full and students had to pay the entire sum of their stay up front. i.e. you stay § months, you pay § months rent in one go.

It was nice to live on campus, but if I return, I think I'd also like to try living in the city or Fremantle to see what that's like.
