Even though I was only in France for 3 months, my French has definitely improved, especially comprehension. I would recommend watching French TV and listening to the radio (get a cheap one). When you hear it constantly, you'll learn quickly.
Most people in Rouen speak only a few words of English. But even if you could get by with English, try to speak French whenever you can. People are usually pretty patient and understanding with you.
My only complaint is that you don't learn French living on campus, and studying the International Track, since everyone speaks English, the students and the teachers.

England is an expensive country, and housing costs are lower in France. Telephone costs were higher as I called the UK from time to time. I spoean more on nightlife because there are so many parties and evenings out that I found myself going to the cashpoint all the time.

Société Générale (large French bank) charge you about 6 euros a month just to have an account with them, which wasn't communicated to those who opened an account. Apply for the CAF; although it takes a long time and it's a hassle, it is worth it. Buy a Carte 12-25 for train travel, as it also gives you money off car hire and Eurostar.

The UPEM courses were alot easier that the courses I do at home. That's because the work load is so light. That was okay since I wanted to travel. I managed to see nine countries in the four months I spent in Rouen. I did like the fact that I got to study courses that focused on a european perspective. Most of the courses were offered in english. The one's offered in french are taught at a level for people who don't speak much french. If you want to improve your french take some courses in the regular program, but if you're on exchange for a vacation from your home school then take the UPEM courses.

“Pluridisciplinarité de l'enseignement”

Évaluation globaleVie étudiante très riche. Les cours de spécialisation sont très intéressants et les professeurs compétents. Pour ce qui est des cours en tronc commun cela reste assez général, comme dans la plupart des écoles de commerce.
