At the university, people were easily understandable. Around Ireland, especially in rural areas, people could be more difficult to understand.

The sciences in Galway were not so good, but most of my friends who did humanities and social sciences loved their classes.

I wish I had known...
taking both science and nonscience classes at the same time is difficult, and I wish I had known more about the quality of the science dept here, although it probably wouldn't have affected my decision much.

From Galway you can take day trips or weekend trips all over for really cheap, so it is a good hub to stay in.

There is a huge amount of tourism in Galway, so defining yourself as a non-tourist is difficult. Certain bars and pubs are more "local and students" and some are more for tourists, but you can fine some nice places. Don't miss the restaurant Couch Potato.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The on campus "Corrib Village" apartments are not very good, not very close, and very strict. I am glad I did not live there.
