The best part about Singapore is the easy access to South East Asia. There are lots of interesting and beautiful places to see, so don't spend all of your time in Singapore.

There are no problems communicating in English. Singapore English, Singlish, is easy to understand once you get used to it. It is actually kinda cute.

Singapore is fun but expensive. Travel to the neighbouring countries, especially the islands and spend time on the beach. Tioman, Bintan (Trikora beach), Peranthian, and Phi Phi are not to be missed. Sentosia, on the other hand, is over rated.
