“Interesting finance courses but somewhat dismay in fundamental ones”
anonymous
Norway, Graduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
Courses are structured in such a way that first provides the students with necessary fundamental knowledge and then immerse them in the more advanced and up-to-date finance knowledge.
First semester starts with mathematics, econometrics, and asset pricing. Other business courses are included such as microeconomics and business ethics. Then the second and fourth semesters are when the students dwell in more complicated and specific focuses in finance such as Investments, Valuation, Risk Management, and Portfolio Management.
The core courses in finance are all very good, the materials are up-to-date, and most of the professors are academically and professionally excellent with in-depth knowledge in their field. However, the basic courses are led by not very good professors when they fail to provide justifiable reasons in grading.
Academic structure of the two-year master program is set so it's not possible to shorten to the program if one wishes to. Furthermore, it is worth noted that BI is a private school with tuition of roughly USD11,000 per year.
Overall, BI provides finance students with the most updated knowledge in finance, from M&A finance to asset management.

“Experience BBA at BI”
Camille L
Norway,
Management Science, 2023
Overall
My first two years of BBA were mostly under Covid-19 restrictions.
It was pretty hard to stay motivated, but I think BI did its best to help students.
Classes were online, but as soon as Covid-19 got under control it was possible to go back to school.
My teachers this semester are great, and I enjoy going to school.
However, it is hard to find internships when you are an international student who does not speak Norwegian.

BI organizes workshops to learn how to write a proper CV and cover letter, and how to use LinkedIn.
Those workshops were useful to me.

They are doing a great job, but maybe they could consider being a bit more flexible, as mentioned at one of the above points of this review.

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
My advice is to go ahead and try it, you will figure it out on the way. Just keep in mind you will need a considerable grant or any other private funds to be able to cover even the most basic expenses (accommodation, transportation, books, food).

My experience at BI was very interesting because I had the opportunity to know people from different cultures and also to know more about the life in Norway. The academic experience in not always the main point but also the interaction with different people makes it an unforgettable experience and friends.

“Good education”

Norway,
Business Studies, 2024
Overall
There is a lot of opportunities to study in BI and to spend time alongside your studies. The campus is nice and there is a lot of space for all the students to spend time and also to study together. Teachers and other students are really nice and you get help when you ask about something.

As for travels from Norway, it is every easy and fairly cheap to go to Sweden and Denmark. You can choose any kinds of transportations to get there.
