The Americain students were not very open to any communication with foreigners, it has been hard to talk with them and keep in touch with local students afterwards.

Assistantship = you work 2ohours a week for the university and they pay your tuition and a monthly stipend. Everything here is expensive, so be prepared. I've met a lot of students who have 3-4 jobs and for foreigners, it is illegal to work off campus (where you can make real money vs. on campus)

I think for a student coming from France where education is almost free and where you don't need to buy your books (all are in the library), you'll be amazed about the costs of the books: for each quarter, I spend about $400 for my USED books (that is $1,200 a year)o

The professors at Ohio State are absolutely welcoming, encouraging, and really seem to care for my success. The campus is perfect, and I have no trouble meeting other students around town and getting involved in student life.

Final comments
It was a great experience, it I had to do it again, I would. However, I did not keep in touch with any American students, that's a failure.
