The cost of living is lower in Chile than in Ireland for that reason food, accommodation and nightlife were cheaper. Telephone cost less because although I did telephone Ireland a few times, I mainly kept in contact through emails. Travel cost more beacaue there is so many amazing places to visit in South America and I simply would not be travelling that much in Ireland.

I spent less mainly because the standard of living in Chile is much lower than it is in Ireland. Living one year in Chile is cheaper than one year in Dublin, Ireland.
