It gives you more liverty to move around with out having curfues from the host family and more important it gives you the opportunity to totally inmerse yourself in the culture.

The university has programs wih other university which finds housing (this wasn't my case. Anyhow is not hard to find a place to live, and its easy to move.

I liked it. Full of students from all around the world, great environment, good internet access, only problem was it was a bit far from the university but i would definitely recommend it.

You need to be fairly easy going as you are living with about 40 other people. Its like living in a hostel except your sharing the same space for a longer lenght of time. Also rent is charged at a "special" rate for foreigners try and bargain him(Andres, the manager of the place) down.

They have a different way of thinking about education, for them it is not only to shape future specialist worker, but to push up your overall personal development.
I did Erasmus in Belgium as well and there it was a completely different experience.

It was a bit like living in a hostel for a year but you had your own bedroom. The best thing about the place was the people you met. They were from all over the world and there were some chileans also. Interesting place to live for a year.
