Personal comments
Very few people spoke English so I was forced to speak Russian in most situations. Because of this my ability to speak and understand Russian improved while I was there.

Personal recommendation
I would recommend this university. Class sizes are small and all teachers are native speakers of Russian. I took classes in language, literature, film, history and current events. The university arranges trips to other parts of Russia. Every week we went on an excursion with our teacher, usually to a museum.
