There are a few very exclusive and expensive clubs in the city centre. 'Cafe Opera', 'Laroy', and 'Karma' are not to be missed (if you can get in, make sure your very very well dressed). 'Burns' is also a lot of fun, its more of a dance club, really big but equally strict in entry requirements. 'East' is also a good spot, right by the water front. If your into a real rave/dance atmosphere, check out the clubs in Gamla Stan. All of them bar Laroy requires an entry fee. If your looking for a cheap drink in a pub, go to Sodermalm (the south) not as posh but not as fun. Also don't tell the security your age if your under 23..

Take as many trips as you can. Especially visit the north - kiruna & around, maybe narvik in norway - and the south - round helsingborg and gothenbourg ('the golden coast' of Sweden).

I fully recommend an exchange program in Stokcholm for all it has to offer, from the people to the academic life as well as the parties. If the student does not mind having cold weather and darkness for 4 months of the year, the Stoskholm is the perfect place to be in. The city is wonderful and so are the Swedes (though it can be difficult to get to know them)! When buying a cell phone card, Comvicq should be the company chosen as it gives bonus every time the person receives a call.

The welcome session is probably one of the best you can have. And the courses are really interesting. There are many parties organised. So SSE is good for people who want to work hard and have fun.

Take as many trips organised by the exchange committee as possible. Always great fun and the best way to get to knwo your fellow exchange students. Russia and Lappland are particularly worth mentioning.
