Most of the time I used my English knowledges.In my case this was the language of instruction too.In the spare time I used FRnch, Spanish and Italian too.Anyway, in both cases it was nice to use my language skills and improve them where it was needed.

Finnish Language is very difficult to learn. Although I made a big effort to learn it, i could not manage it. Foreign people needs more than 6 months to learn it. Neverthless it was always easy to communicate with Finnish people who are very friendly and sympathetic

Ñow i can speak english without any problem. In the begguning i was afraid of speaking english but then it was very easy. All the international students are in the same situation (except the ones from england and USA) and we can understand each other perfectly.

The don't speak finnish so well, but i can understand a basic pharases, but as english is the communication langage in the University so i did not face any problem in communication.

Almost every Finn you will meet will speak at least some Finnish. A lot speak even very good English. But it is of course it is always polite to at least try to speak some phrases in Finnish. The reactions will be usually very positive.

The official language is English here, I feel free with English both in study and everyday life. However, Finish is also required by many employers, thus I am trying to learn it.
