Travel in groups of 5 using state tickets on week days and weekend tickets on weekends. These group tickets are very cheap and costs merely 5-10% of the actual cost when you travel alone

integrate in the 1st month trhough the local students organization (there are lots of activities in the 1st 3 weeks).
Accomodation in Karlshoff (studentenhaus) should be quiet ok, as i said they were renovatin when i left so it should be nice by now...
DO not snobb language course altho u think u can speak english with everyone!!
