There are so many places to go and experience when in madrid. There are numerous bars and dance clubs. Kapital is super cool and not to miss. 5 floors of music. When eating out, try avoiding the western food chains and go for Spanish cuisine. It is really good with the Spanish tapas. Museo de Jamon shoudl be visited because of what can be seen inside, and good food.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I really enjoyed the independence, even though i still lived with two other exchange students. I lived closer to teh center and had the ability to cook for myself, which was quite nice

Overall
I wish I had known...
That Madrid can get quite hot in the summer months, which results with many cocroaches on the streets in some areas. Was not very happy to find that out towards teh end of my stay.

Personal recommendation
Take teh time to enjoy all, and bring your own laptop if possible. There are two campuses for the University, teherfore try to take classes at both. One is located in teh mountains and teh other within the city.

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Travel whenever you have a chance to, either around Madrid, or to other countries while abroad. Visiting the Andalucia region is not to be missed because of its beautiful architecture and history. If going to this university, attendance is mandatory, but classes are quiet small, so gives a chance to meet many people.

Personal comments
The first two or 3 weeks of classes were a littel overwhelming and the local accent was sometimes a littel to understand coming from some profs. I was surprised how fast i actually adapted and did not have much problems at all. The exchange cordinator was always there to help about any inquiries.
