Although 40 minutes by train outside Barcelona, a frequent and efficient train service ensured that getting there on time wasn't a problem. The social life on campus wasn't as good as that back home. Most students tended to socialis off campus in Barcelona.

Final comments
Life at the Vila (the local campus) is great, except during week-ends (all the Spaniards tend to go back home). Take the opportunity to travel around Spain with other foreign students.

live in Barcelona if you want to enjoy your stay.. Staying in the suburbs doesn't give you the same opportunities to go out, for exemple..

I think the best way of learning a foreign language is to live in the native coutry, because you are obliged to practice and you get any help you need to improve.
