Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The university campus is really far from the center of Barcelona, like 30km. You will enjoy much more your experience ir you're living in the center. you will find prices in range of 300 to 400 (normal erasmus houses) depending on the location, facilities and so

Some courses are taught in Catalan, wich is kind of a bummer. It's not that easy to learn that language, so try to choose courses in Spanish. You don't need to learn Catalan, thought there's many free courses in the university. in language courses you'll meet many erasmus students, try to take advantage of that

Try to take advantage of the academic part of eramus, because it's easy to get good grades if you don't skip to many classes and keep studying a little bit

you don't pay to enter in many nightclubs, you just have to register in their guestlists. But the price of a drink inside were like a shock to me! For groceries try Mercadona, Carrefour or Lidl. Dia is also cheap but lacks to much in quality. As for telephone use Yoigo

It's not that different from Porto, Portugal. Taxes are lower than in Portugal, so the prices are kind of balanced

I wish I had known...
Try to go before september to find a place to live, you'll find the better places and use couchsurfing in the first days without a place to save some money

Barcelona(Girona) airport has many routes to another contries by Ryanair, even to Morocco! ESN will also arrange many trips for Erasmus. You'll have the best time of your life in Barcelona, you don't need to know much things now, it's funnier to learn it there
