Final comments
Most travel has to be arranged through Madrid, but you can get to certain locations (Seville, Valladolid, Bilbao, etc.) directly from Salamanca. Valladolid airport is great for cheap Ryanair flights!

Academic
Course recommendations
Each faculty has a pretty substantial book with a myriad of choices to take. My advice is to take your time going to these courses during orientation to scope them out before committing to them. You can buy ready made notes for most courses at the photocopy shops, which makes life a lot easier!

Some professors I encountered in the university had little to no spoken English, but this presented no real problem for me.

Central Spain is considerably cheaper than the coasts and Madrid. Salamanca is a great spot for students on a budget.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Most ERASMUS students stay in the city centre. The business faculty is located outside of the historic city, but I was never tempted to live out there as it get really quiet in the evening. Campus has a curfew which does not got well with student life in Salamanca!

I shared a 4 bed duplex just off the Plaza Mayor with people I had met in the city during orientation. It was cheap, great location and quite easy to find.
