Personal comments
Be warned: the Sevillan dialect is NOT easy to understand, BUT after a while you get used to it.
The only way to really improve your Spanish is to get to know locals. It's not very easy, but just go to the Feria de Abril, a little chat here and there and there you go! I have some good friends in Sevilla now. People there are usually very friendly and willing to talk to strangers (that is, if you are interested yourself, and don't act like a complete tourist).

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
You are independent, you can choose your roommates, the location and many other things.. but the most important thing is... you live with native speaker and in their cultural surroundings.. you are involved in the living and the culture, it's the best way to improve, learn, study .. to train the foreign language abroad!

Personal comments
I found my residence in the Internet.. she was a spanish girl, from Sevilla, so I liked this aspect.. she introduced me in her city and country.. I was introduced in her life..with her friends and family.. that was great! It was a room in a flat (in HER flat.. that was the only disadvantage.. she was the "boss"!!) and we lived together with her boyfriend.. the flat was quite big and comfortable.. very clean!! we had all... kitchen+equipment, washing machine,oven,microwave,... 2!!bathrooms,so I had one for myself :) that was perfect.. my room was small but it was enough. I made a mistake at the beginning, I wouldn't do this once again.. I didn't have a contract with her.. a written one!! THAT'S IMPORTANT!

Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
I believe that my Spanish speaking skills improved vastly because of the interaction that I had on a daily basis with my family. The classroom learning focused more on listening and writing, but I feel that speaking is crucial as well. I also learned a great deal more about the culture and lifestyle of Spain by living with a family.

Overall
