On San Fernando, across from the Rectorado, there are many cafés/bars open until around 10pm on the weekdays. La Carbonería in el barrio Santa Cruz has a number of flamenco shows that are less "touristy" unlike those found at El Patio by the Plaza de Toros. In March/April is the Feria de Primavera where you can drink rebujitos while dancing sevillanas in Los Remedios. If you know any local people, you might even be invited into a caseta that usually houses its own bar, bathroom, and speaker system. Across the Guadalquivir, you can visit places on the Calle Betis. The best way to pass your time is tapas hunting in the area behind the Avenida de la República, on the opposite side as the cathedral (I forget the name of the neighborhood.)Also, the Alameda de Hércules has great jazz venues with univerisity jam sessions-- an easy way to meet other ERASMUS students from countries like Italy, France, and Germany.

A great place to begin the acclimation process is to go to some of the larger clubs where you are likely to meet many international students - clubs like Doblon on Thursday nights, Boss or Caramelo on Wednesday nights. After that, I enjoyed spending time with my Spanish friends and going to smaller clubs in the Viapol area, like Sunset and Voule Bar in the evenings. Plaza de Espana (right across from where I lived when I stayed for an extra month in the summer) is still one of my favorite places.

You absolutely MUST travel while you're there!!! Go for the whole year, and during the winter break, travel through Europe. On weekends, you HAVE to go to Portugal and Morocco! I don't know if it's still there, but B-60 was a fun place for drinking and dancing. Just in general, be ready for a lot of late nights of having fun!!! Don't drink too much, though, because it's just not very classy there.

The nightlife in Sevilla is completely different than it is in Texas. Plaza Nueva, Plaza de Cuba, and Calle Betis is where many of my memories were made in Sevilla. Cafes surround the town and all are so friendly and joyful. The Cathedral of Sevilla was phenomenal and the Flamenco dancing at Coronita is an experience. The neighborhood of Triana truly displays the personality of Sevilla.

Best place for lunch is Taberna Los Coloniales, Plaza San Pedro, great food great atomsphere, very cheap. The best spot breakfast in Seville, and possibly Europe (excluding France who have breakfast monopolised) is Taberna de los Terceros, Plaza de los Terceros, Tostada con tomate y aceite, genial. Both of these are near the Plaza de la Encarnacion which is the best area to live in.

- all tapas bars - elefunk (that's a great bar.. you'll have a lot of fun! groovy!) - FERIAAA :) that's the great thing of Sevilla... but you have to search for Spanish people.. you have to look for amigos before this fiesta ;) - all cinemas... - there are a lot of nice cafes - the best ice in this city: at RAYES - ... you have to find out yourself! :) that's the best way!
