There are suggestions that could be made such as: The style of teaching and grading is much different to that of the US. Some teachers were very aware of this while others really did not take the time out to care. For some classes there was just one grade given and that would be the final grade for the semester. These are things that did bother me.

A program that I think is very helpful for both the international student and the students of the home university is the intercambio program, where an international student is paired up with a local student to become somewhat like language instructors but in a more social setting.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: I would live in an apartment with spanish students
Why?
This would give me the optimum opportunity to speak spanish as well as become familiar with students my age in a different country. I enjoyed my time where I lived but I told myself while I was still there that if I came back that is what I would do.
