I would again live in an apartment for the independence of it, but I would live with Spaniards instead of Americans

It was a bit of a mess getting settled. The host university wasn't helpful or accomodating. More or less, simply plop students where they will be. I would recommend instead doing it all independently, by using the university's bulletin boards as information on who needs a roommate

I Loved the Disco Bataplan well worth a visit particularly if you are a girl as you normally do not have to pay. Dont miss the Tamborrada in San Sebastian and Carnavales-really good fun

Speaking to the locals is the best way to improve your language so try and get involved as much as possible in university activities with students other than the international students

Hardly anyone speaks Basque in town, but at the uni you hear it more. Some people know some English, but don't count on it!
