At the beginning you will ask yourself what you're doing there in this foreign country, but after a few weeks you will get to know many interesting people and do a lot of fun stuff that will make your stay in Lisbon unforgettable!!

You have to work quite a lot at thins university, which some times can be a problem if you are in Lisbon just for the parties. The professors are nice, as well students will help, but for good results you have to work and manage in many things on your own.

Erasmus is a good experience for every student. You learn to how to act in different situations around different people and although all the parties and having fun, I think you as well mature a lot and learn to behave independently. Lisbon is a great city to live in, always something is going on, for sure I would recommend it as an Erasmus destination.

I wouldn´t recommend my university except for those who study economics, the rest of the courses were so-so. And about the atmosphere, it was not as open as I expected it would be.

That I should take more care about my belongings because of the pickpockets who are especially in the city center and shopping centers.

If possible don't do the regular programme portuguese students do (same amount of courses) or you will be quite busy.

There are many beautiful places to visit in and around Lisbon as well as in whole Portugal. Don't miss Algarve, beaches around Lisbon, etc. It is also worth it to take a surf course!

Unfortunately, local students of Universidade Catolica are not interested in bonding with Erasmus students. Anyway, Lisbon is great, you can have fun despite this fact.

The first thing I would suggest to Erasmus students in Lisbon is enjoying the city, all the museums and beautiful landmarks that it has and its nightlife. It's the best way to learn more about Portugal and to learn Portuguese. And don't be afraid of all the things you might hear about the lack of security. Just pay attention as you would in your homecountry. And take the taxi at night. They are not expensive at all.
