I think while being Erasmus student it's important not to forget about learning not anly from books and lectures but mostly from life situations. I would advise travelling as much as possible and trying to get to know local people and culture too.

My experience at Porto
Giuseppe W
Portugal,
Language, 2023
Overall
I had the opportunity to study in porto for 4 years, having done 1 year in sociology and now finishing my course in Languages, Literature and Culture. Although the experience at a university is influenced by many things even at a personal level, It's my opinion that the general setting of the university of porto is positive in many ways. On one hand the teachers in general are interested not in just giving us the information to pass but giving us the tools to get there by ourselves, making it sometimes less direct way of learning but at the end a more rewarding one. I enjoyed most of the course but I believe some classes should have had more emphasis and I saw there content as important.

A high-quality academic experience in Portugal
Beatriz F
Portugal, Graduate
Business Studies, 2026
Overall
Studying at the University of Porto has been an incredible experience. The university combines academic excellence with a very dynamic environment, offering a wide range of well-structured courses and highly qualified professors who are always available to help. The campus atmosphere is vibrant, with many opportunities to get involved in student life and meet people from all over the world. The facilities are modern and well equipped, and the city of Porto itself is inspiring — full of culture, history, and a welcoming community. It’s definitely a great place to study and grow both academically and personally.

The University of Porto provides strong support for students preparing for their professional future. The Careers Office regularly promotes workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and career development. They also share internship and job opportunities, including international ones, and collaborate with companies that value the university’s reputation. Through these services, students receive valuable guidance to enter the job market with confidence. Even when finding internships independently, the advice and resources provided by the university are very useful.
