It's generally a big advantage to have at least a basic knowledge of the host country's language before going there...
Still, it's amazing how quickly you'll learn when you're living in a full-immersion environment.

downtown torio piazza vittorio and valentino park clubs, great nightlife and weather, sports with local SAA and USAC students, chocolate shops everywhere, historic cafes - gret for coffee lovers like me!
