Université Montesquieu - Bordeaux IV

On-campus accommodation is terrible. The room sizes are around 9 - 10 metres squared, awfully dirty and with very little light. Kitchens are usually shared between three floors and there is only one two ring hob, a cupboard and a belfast sink. There are bathrooms on each floor, however there is only one toilet and two shower cubicles in each. Of course, the rent is only cheap (120eur p.c.m 2005 -2006) and the location is excellent for all those 8.30am lectures but it is definately not something I would recommend!

We actually never went to a party organised by the university, because the first erasmus party in the beginning of the year was so horrible. I did meat a lot of Erasmus-students, but that was by going to bars as the Cock and Bull or the Houses of Parliament, and via other persons. We built up our own social life with hot spots, which were equally presented by French people and by foreign students. Good places to go have a drink are Chez Karl, le Pain et Ciel, Chez Pompom. If you want to have a nightlife, that can be a problem, because the real dancings are at the "quai" by the water, and are not so easy to get to, AND the close at 4am! In the centre however, you can have a great time at Chez Greg, Calle Ocho or bar Azuli if you like dancing. However, these places close, just like al bars at 2am!!
