It was very enjoyable and it was a great way to meet other students and use the language

Food was cheaper - we shopped in Aldi which didn't exist at home at the time. Telephone - Generally more expensive, along with the added expense of phoning home. Housing was much cheaper - we were able to claim back almost half of our rent. Nightlife in Ireland is very expensive - alcohol is much cheaper in France Travel - Travelling home and taking advantage of being in Europe. Overall - the key expenses were cheaper in France

It has a good sized student population, a very nice library and many interesting courses. Everything runs quite well and there is no messing about.

In my home university I studied Computational Linguistics which was more hands on computer based. The computer courses were very limited in Nancy. They do a good Prolog and Perl course in Science du Langage in Nancy. It may be worth looking elsewhere in the university for other I.T. subjects. However, the lack of computer related subjects gives you an opportunity to explore other linguistic areas such as socio, etho and psycholinguistics along with morphology and historic linguistics

It would be important to provide French language training for the international student population, as this is imperative for following the courses and interaction with local students
