If returning, I would choose: Near campus ADPS or apartment from free markets
Why?
ADPS is easy to get like CROUS but it is closer. Normal rent-apartments cost the same but can be better.

Accomodation is easy to get but the conformance is military style. The french governement pays for some of the housing expenses.

Nightlife in Troyes is different from what I was used to in Finland. Pubs and home-parties dominate - the discos in Troyes are quite poor.

Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
The university is quite small (1300) and the town is quite small (50 000). I would prefer Lyon, Marseille and many other cities over Troyes but in the end Troyes is OK as well.

Final comments
Troyes is not the best choise if you want to party. If you just want to spend some time abroad, learn some French, study a couple of courses and have som good time Troyes will offer you all of this. Nothing spectacular.
