Personal spending habits
I travelled quite a bit around Italy. I didn't go out that much in Bergamo (through lack of nightlife!) and phonecalls to home made my phone bill more than usual, but in other areas I didn't notice that much of a difference. Eating out is cheaper though!

More organisation and explanation of exams as they are usually all oral exams here, something I was not used to.

Final comments
It is a beautiful city, especially the Upper city. But is not a university city and nightlife is limited, so if you prefer the quiet life, come here. It is close to the mountains so is ideal for hiking and skiing.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I shared a flat with other erasmus students, so I only spoke English. If I had been sharing with Italians, my Italian would have improved a lot more!

There is a good online accomodation service run by the International office, where you can see the photos of the rooms before you choose.

Personal comments
The city is limited with it comes to nightlife. Every Tuesday at Byrons there was an erasmus party, which was usually interesting! There is not a lot of places for students, especially erasmus students unfortunately.
