Be aware of the fact that things take time in Germany, and that you will have to visit a few public offices to get grants for residence and working permit. This can be an experience with mixed pleasure.
The university handed out a list of courses they recommended the foreign exchange students to participate in. The variaty could have been better. But the VWL-courses were very good!

No, we did learn a lot. It was kind of strange, though, that we had to find all the literature in the library ourselves and then copy it. It would have been better to buy a main book and then copy some chapters in addition to that.
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Appartement/maison
Pourquoi?
I lived close to the university and the other students, but at the same time I had an appartment to myself and thus privacy. Stores and transportation, that is bus and U-bahn, were 1 minumte away!

I lived private, but it was arranged thorugh the university. I was very satisfied, especially considering the price.
