I was living with my parents at home, whereas in Lausanne I was not. Also, Switzerland is more expensive than Australia generally speaking.

Final comments
Don't expect anything, that way you will always be surprised, and have fun. Do not feel inhibited. Speak the language. It is one of the things I miss most.

Despite initial nervousness, which sometimes hindered my ability to understand, I became more at ease and very comfortable with using the language in my surroundings, both formal and informal.
