As people from Quebec ar speaking French with a different accent than people from Europe, it took me some time to adapt to their way of speaking. However, professors and teacher at the university are speakingan excellent French. SOme are speaking with a little accent, but not really that strong that you can't understand them.

It was very useful that I speak french because I was able to learn more about the culture, to interact more with local people, to read the newspaper, to be aware about all the events.

Montreal and UQAM is a great place to study. Although, Montreal is in Quebec, it is a truly global city: almost everybody speaks in English, so it is a great way to practice it.

I spoke excellent french before going to Montreal. Had slight difficulties understanding the local language at first but I got used to it fairly quick

Academique English was very fast to assimilate has cause of the classes(courses), I was to oblige to learn(teach) thus, it it is made very fast.
