The good reputation of this university is mainly due to its friendly and professional academic staff, so it's easy to take the most of its expertise.

Arrange your accomodation much before you arrive, try to leave or have contact with Dutch students (it's difficult, but really worth it) and take profit of the Dutch railway system to travel all around the Benelux!

Master Psychology at Leiden University
Pia-Marie S
Netherlands,
Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, 2023
Overall
The University itself seems quite organized and informs very often and on time about recent news. Especially as an international student I always felt welcomed and it is not a problem if you can´t speak Dutch, every employee is very friendly and can switch to English immediately.

Concerning my track Social and Organisational Psychology, I want to say that there is a bigger focus on Social Psychology, which is in my opinion good to know beforehand.

Pluri-disciplinary learning
Nafi D
France, Undergraduate
International Relations, 2022
Overall
The fact that my degree is based on four areas of studies being cultural studies, history, politics and economics, allowed me to assemble multiple point of views to tackle one complex issue. However, endeavours such as decoloniality and/or inclusivity are not fully achieved yet based on my experience.

Political Science, 2024
Overall
The majority of the courses are well-structured and in line with my expectations. The campus is in the middle of the city, giving access to a variety of cafés, and tourist spots but also shops and libraries.

Careers
My interaction has been quite limited as we have just begun the internship/career advice process. However, so far I have received sufficient guidance with even a review of my CV.

Pros
The university is very international and therefore the variety in committees and events is large.
Cons
Their online system could be modernized and made more efficient. The feedback provided for assignments vary a lot as well –– the range varies from professor to professor.

I have one more year to study. If the study is considered as investment, then confidently one could take it up.

Ask university what is the easy way to carry cash to the host country and about public transportation, living, etc. Otherwise in a new city, one tend to lose a lot in the initial days. Moreover, search for grants because, actaul expenditure always crosses estimated. Also, enquire well on weather and climate if it'lls uit you.
