While I was in Utrecht, Monza was renovated and was a great place to go to when the medicine students had parties there. Storm was another great place to go for a good night out with students. The canals are also great in Utrecht, especially if you are a rower.

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It was great to live independently, whilst still sharing housing with other people. I became more conscious of people around me.

I though the housing provided was well located, and even though we were nine in a small house, it was enjoyable.

Overall, language was never an issue in the Netherlands because most of the teachers were able to explain things quite easily in English.

Final comments
If you don't mind the rain, the Netherlands has a lot to offer for studies. Utrecht is a miniature version of Amsterdam and is a great place to go for studying. Amsterdam is only half an hour away if you are in need of bigger cultural events.
