It is quite expensive to get out in Bergen so people usually organize partys in their houses or residences.

Housing
Type of housing: Residence hall outside of campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Residence hall outside of campus
Why?
The residence hall where I stayed had 1000 students from very different nationalities, it was a very rewarding place to live.

Personal comments
The university has several residence halls, most of them not on campus, which isn't concentrated in one place. Fantoft residence is ugly in the outside but the people that live in it make it completely amazing.

If you have a valid norwegian student card (all the erasmus have) you can have 50% discount on train travels and many discounts in a lot of places.

Final comments
The university is great there where lots of activities I only knew about them in the end. Try to meet more norwegian students that know how things work, they can give you great advices. In Fantoft with all the international students you will have the chance of your life to make friends from everywhere. Enjoy everything, everyday because it all ends too quickly.

You don't need to know any word of norwegian to live in Norway. Most of the people are fluent in English. The university has language courses which get filled up quite quickly.
