check on prices from store to store, that really will make you save money; forget about smoking ;) or drinking downtown :) those are very expensive goods in Norway

Personal spending habits
Food and other everyday comodities were usually cheeper than at home, where as luxury items (alcohol, tobacco, travel etc.) were more expensive. Student housing was cheeper than my usual rent and I rarley used the phone, which is why I spent less money on these.

For cost saving, avoid going for unneccessary outings and try to cook for your self if you can because then you will be able to make a favourable budget for your self.
