This university has a lot to offer. It may take a little effort to mix with the local students, but there is a great time to be had by everyone. Take advantage of the wide array of Irish studies courses and student societies.

Make the most of your international experience and don't hesitate to do all the things you wish for. Take advantage of student travel rates and immerse yourself in the local culture. There are several opportunities in Cork to see traditional Irish music, learn Gaelic sports, or just enjoy the everyday life of locals.
i wouldn´t share a house or a flat any more with people from my home country.

it was great and if you like i can send you my experience paper (just write me an e-mail). i met so many nice people and it´s so great to have so many nice friends all over the world. and it´s nice to know people that visit you in your home city from everywhere.
During the first two weeks of the fall semester you don't have to go to classes. they call this registration and really you go to check out the classes and see if you want to be enrolled. no irish students went or for that matter were even back at college yet.

use the USIT office on campus, they are slow but generally get the best student rates. also, ryanair.com and easyjet.com

Cork is relatively a small place, so one can easily get around, however, the transportation system is not as efficient as that in Germany. It rains most of the times and there is no snow juring winter period.
In addition, one should try to make accommodation arrangement in advance because of accommodation scarcity.
I wish I had known more about all the alternative choices student can opt for to find an accomodation (i.e. the website www.daft.ie, through which I managed to find my second house)

This is a very well-organized structure. Students have the chances of experimenting a wide range of extra activities for free.
As far as Political science studies are concern, I think that some academic contents need to be improved (for some aspects, Italian university requires a deeper analysis of the themes). Anyway, some of my teachers turned out to be really smart, as did their lectures.
