Temple Bar is very populat for nightlife and nearby you can also find a lot of clubs which are open till late!
We lived in Blackrock were we often went to the Wicked Wulf, a nice pub with sea view, and every thursday they have karaoke, which is a must if you go there!

Housing Standards in Ireland are far lower than Austrian Standards, however we had everything we neede in the residence allthough the heat did not worked troughout the entire first month.

We travelled a lot around, which you should also do, because you never get so much time in one country to get to know it. We mostly travelled by rented car, and even though it was left drivin we did not encountered any problems, and got very well along woth everything.
Even if at the start everything might seem very unfamiliar and strange to you, just don't let yourself go, at the end you will get to know a lot of very nice people and you will love it!

my language knowledge did not improove too much, as we were in an accomodation with mainly international students so we could not interact that much with local students or population!
