I had advance English before getting there, but the one thing I work on while in UCSD was my writing, which improved a lot out of writing all these reports and papers. Also my pronunciation was a bit rusty at the beginning but I got back in shape in a couple of weeks.

First of all, save money because is expensive. Secondly, if you do it, take advantage of it, do no call or write home, live it up.
