Plenty of clubs along Sauchiehall St, catering for the large student population. Byres Rd is also quite cool with cafes and shops, in the West End near campus.

Personal comments
I stayed at Wolfson Hall, part of uni accommodation. However, it was quite some distance away from campus, so was not that convenient. In fairness, it was the only accommodation available which was catered and offered in-room internet access.

English is my first language, however the Glaswegian accent can be overwhelming at times. Fortunately, it was quite subdued among lecturers and other students.

Final comments
The international student department is extremely helpful and organised, so there is always help available. And one thing I wish I'd done- work harder to get to know more locals.

Probably the best tip would be to take advantage of the many student discounts that are available. Look out for coupons and such which are distributed on campus during orientation week.
