Thao H

Overall
The University of Greenwich offers you a wide range of valuable courses to succeed in your future pathway. The lecturers are always prepared and give you informative and very educational materials to support your studies. The university also cooperates with lots of other universities in Europe. Therefore, you can apply for an Erasmus scheme and gain valuable experience abroad in your second year.

Besides, The university provides lots of support to enhance your professional career. It has its own employability office where you can book one-to-one appointments. The advisor will help you build a stand-out CV, cover letter and practice interview techniques which will undoubtedly help you to get a job you desire.

It also has a unique Student’s Union which provides lots of exciting events and activities, including social events or Varsity competition for you to participate and have a vast deal amount of fun. More interestingly you can be a part of society. You can join either sports teams, such as football, basketball, cheerleading, dancing and more or the societies related to your studies and other interests, such as the Society of Entrepreneurs, Creative writing, Disney, Games development society, etc.

The university has a great location that offers you lots of attractions and places to explore. There are acres of parks around the area, a comedy club, the Greenwich Market where you can try lots of different and tasty cuisines for an affordable price, plenty of restaurants and pubs. Furthermore, you can visit a Royal Observatory as well as set foot in the Greenwich Meridian Line which divides eastern and western hemispheres. The area is favourably accessible. Canary Wharf, the financial district, is just across the river and Central London is only 20 minutes away from the Cutty Sark station.

Why you should think about the university of Greenwich to study abroad.
Yasmin M
Denmark, Undergraduate
Journalism, 2019
Overall
The university of Greenwich used to be a historic naval base of which many tourists visit the campus to bask in the beautiful campus. The university itself offers many opportunities for students to gain experience in volunteering for campus activities as well as social clubs. The teachers offer information and experience of which they have learnt, being professors and having years of experience in the field you choose to learn. The learning style is professional yet relaxed. It has been an educational and enjoyable experience studying at the university of Greenwich.

University of Greenwich was responsible for many of my achievements

If I could describe Greenwich in three words, they would be: supportive, full of projects/initiatives and creative.
This university not only taught me business related topics, but also how to improve personal aspects in order to be more effective at the workplace. We also had the opportunity of having mentors from different areas and companies (including big ones such as J P Morgan and Barclays).
Last but not least, its Business School Employability Office provided help with CV, cover letters and other basic necessities to find a job. Students were given workshops, interactive activities,...
And of course the best part was having abroad opportunities with summer schools and the Erasmus program.
And if students had an entrepreneur spirit, they could also create their own companies and present it at the University’s annual competition!
I miss uni! Thank you Greenwich and BSEO for being part of my academic life.

Before going anywhere, do your search and collect information on all aspects of the student and non-student life in the destination country. Arrange your accomodation and your finance before arriving in he country. Try to learn the language at least to an intermidiate level. Always generate contacts even e-contacts as difficult situations may arise and you may need help. Don't always count on family. Prepare yourself to be completely independent. Don't forget to enjoy life as life is too short.
