Accommodation in the US is generally more expensive than in Europe, so I had to accept it and deal with it. On-campus facilities are more expensive than those off campus. Living off campus isn´t really a problem though since Champaign has an excellent public transport system.

The High Dive on Saturdays and Brothers on Thursday night! IMPE is an absolute must for sports and meeting people and the Illini Union is the best place to have a coffee, meeting your teams and to study ever!!

Try everything out! Don´t waste time at home and participate in clubs and sportsevents! You´ll make a lot of friends and it´s so much fun!

Chicago is close and in my opinion the best city in the US. To the south there´s St. Louis, which has some good Blues and Jazz Bars. You should also visit the Amish people in the West of the school and you should definitely spend a day at the lakes...
