Well, before leaving France, I only knew what my teachers had taught me, from books, in high school and college. After 8 months there, I really had the chance to get the real oral English, and the course I went to improved my grammar... So it was pretty balanced, and then I managed to get the local accent !

At the beguinning, I had problems constructing a whole sentence. I couldn't understand my roomates either! Didn't have much vocabulary. But after a month, I begun to speak fluently with everybody. It was more a problem of practice, vocabulary and getting adapted to the numerous and diverse english accents!

In the first few month, I had lots of difficulities to talk to my flatmates or the lab members. However after a few months, I could realise that I had improved my English a lot. I was too shy at the beginning, but as time went by, I felt easier and more confortable to speak English.
