Ottawa is pretty central, so you can travel to Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and New York easily. If you want to rent a car, get a international driver's licence in your home country (this helps). If you are under 19, don't go to Ottawa, because 19 is the legal drinking age and they are pretty strict on this.

University of Ottawa Overall Review

Overall
The University of Ottawa is a very good school. We have one of the best business school in the country and it's very diverse. There's about 42,000 students from all over the world (local and international students). The school offers a career center that helps you find a job, write your resume, cover letters, etc. There is also a lot of club from different faculty you can join. There's a lot of activities throughout the school year such as the Panda Game (american football). The workload in most Canadian schools are quite heavy. A full course load at my University is 5 classes (15 credits) or 4 classes (12 credits). You can have midterms, final exams, assignments, papers, case studies in your classes. We have good prof and also bad ones, you just need to look them up on rate my professor to see the reviews.

The university offers a number of trips and activities for a good price. The whale-wachting in Quebec is a worthwhile trip!

The official ranking of the university for the school of business administration is not very high if it's very important for you. Nevertheless, it was for me a way to discover another kind of teaching and studying.

Canada is a HUGE country that has to be visited from East to West. Culture is real particular: a mix between the USA and some European countries, such as England... You have to be confident and step forward to people; if you don't do so, you'll be by yourself!

It's a small campus but still loads of things to do. Very similar in teaching method to Australia. Diverse student body and Canadians are very open and welcoming.

Go. It will be one of the most memorable times of your university studies. You will meet great people, make loads of friends and never want to leave!! And the snow and winter time in Canada is an experience you don't want to miss (coming from someone who hates the cold!).
