Housing and nightlife were more expensive because Barcelona is a turistic city. Travel and food costs are almost the same. Phoning is cheaper.

The program was in Barcelona and taught in English. Living all the day with english-speaking students gave me the opportunity for a strong improvement of my language skills. As far as Spanish is concerned I had many chanches of speaking it: I found it very easy to learn because I attended a good course and mainly, because I am Italian and we speak very similar languages.
