Academic
Course recommendations
IFI chose the first semester courses for us. first year, and second year were mixed. In the second semestre i decided the first year courses were too easy so i only followed second year courses. Marketing communication was very interesting and the lecturer knew how to motivate his fellow students

Personal comments
in my opinion, as a french student studying at IFI, i really felt the difference between the french private business school and the british university business schools. the exams and assignment are so easy (Multiple Choice Questions and little 3000 words essays). I think the french level is higher than the british one. but i don't think it had anything to do with sunderland university, the lecturer were fine, nice people ready to help at any time, lectures interesting etc.

Personal spending habits
the life cost in the UK is higher than in france, so having the same amount of money for a month than i usually have in France i had to be carefull. anyway i am use to be carefull with the money i get now, so i knew were to spend and were not to spend (for example the travel, by train is very very expensive in the UK, cigarettes and alcohol are over taxed)

it is necessary to have a british bank account (which is difficult, butthanks to my workplacement i also had an advantage) otherwise the banking fees taking money from a french bank account to aa british cash dispenser is very expensive

it's been a few years, but i can say that i really enjoyed the subjects i did in the media and cultural studies programme. the lecturers were approachable, and many of them supervised their own tutorials.

Tourism, 2019
Overall
It was an amazing experience, as during the course in the Sunderland University I was surrounded by extremely professional and highly qualified module leader and tutors. Thanks to them, I became part of a very interesting study program, which was aimed at expanding knowledge in tourism, namely in the field of hospitality (hotels, restaurants, events etc). A big advantage was that my tutors themselves had enormous experience working on the hospitality industry. Therefore, this allowed them to reveal not only the theoretical components of our specialty, but also the practical, accompanying them with relevant examples. Moreover, practical classes included visiting large hotels. During those classes we were allowed to conduct interviews with managers in order to get more information related to the hotel business and sales. Finally, for my Major Final Project I have chosen a topic "Why Moldova is the least visited country in Europe". This project excited me, as there are not many people that willing to make such investigation. I have received a good grade for my project and was proud of myself.
