You can travel to many places from tampere: Stockholm, Russia, Lapland, Latvia, Tallin... a lot of choice. And don't forget to rent a cottage for a weekend!

There are normally not so many exams to do, it is more the essays. But it depends on what you like, I hate essays so I would prefer exams...

Everyone speaks English in Finland so don't panic, you will find your way. In UTA there are free courses of Finnish, try at least with the survival!

Well, food and alcohol is more expensive. For me housing is more expensive becuase I live at home, but TOAS is not too expensive, believe me. In other cities of Finlands it gets really a lot of money.

In Tampere all the student housing it done by TOAS, it is cheap and easy. Maybe it is not very centric but it's good enough. The most central location that they give to exchange students is Läpinkääri. It's more similar to a residence and some people likes it a lot, I have to say that the area is very nice but the rooms are small.

Ruma and Doris are the best places in tampere if you like Rock and Pop. Ruma is cheaper but you always have to queue a lot, actually you always queue a lot for clubs in Tampere (and this sucks when you are at -15). There are other many clubs and cafees that are very nice like YoTalo, Cafe Europa is very nice, Arturi. If you dont't like maynstreaming places don't go to Cabaret, Onnella, Saha, Ylves, Emma... but you will go there at least once becuase of the student parties.
