That the universitiy campus is quite far away of the city centre. Traveling with buses is quite expensive.

Several art galeries hidden in the side streats of Gloster Road.
Cafe´and bars at the waterfront and on Gloster Road. Something for every taste.

As I have experieced private accommodation I can´t see any disadvantages to university properties. Nevertheless might be a lack of time before term starting or the contract procedures to rent a room/house an aspect not to go for it as everything is arranged by the university beforehand. I would not advice students with no international travel/ study experience and fluent english to go for the option of private accomodation. In general the cost of living is quite expensive in comparison to other European cities.
